Outback Steakhouse is getting in the NIL game.

Oct 25 2021

Outback Steakhouse is getting in the NIL game. As brands continue scoring name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals with college athletes, Outback has officially named its first seven college football stars to be part of its TeamMATES program, including Emory Jones and Anthony Jones (University of Florida quarterbacks), C.J. Stroud (Ohio State University quarterback), Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson (Ohio State University wide receivers), Blake Corum (University of Michigan running back), and A.J. Henning (University of Michigan wide receiver). For the program, Outback will make meal donations to military families via Operation Homefront, while players will host local “give back” nights at select Outback restaurants to raise money for their favorite charities. Outback plans on expanding its partnership to include female athletes and winter and spring sports in the future. YPulse’s Scouting Next Gen Sports Fans trend data shows 63% of 13-39-year-olds consider themselves sports fans, and partnering with young athletes could be a boon for brands to authentically engage with them and show their support for the athletes.
