Steve Madden enlisted young celebrities for an immersive footwear campaign. Normani, Sydney Sweeney, Jordan Alexander, Nessa Barrett, and Justin Skye are taking on their next role as Steve Madden’s reimagined “Big Head Girls” in a new immersive campaign known as The Steve Maddenverse. Similar to the original “Big Head Girls,” the celebrities have been scanned into their own avatars with large heads to model Madden’s fall designs—which mimic “a lot of ‘90s styles” according to the designer. Consumers can view the Maddenverse online to discover each celebrity’s staple piece from the fall collection, including a range of black, silver, and pink-pointed toe pumps and sandals and boots covered in crystals, spikes, and embossments. Creating immersive experiences while introducing new tools for online shopping is one way fashion brands have been making online shopping more engaging for young consumers, and the Steve Maddenverse is one way the brand is using modern tech to get in on young people’s ‘90s nostalgia boom.
