Watch out CoComelon, a new YouTube-based kids’ franchise is coming for Millennial families’ attention. According to YPulse’s media consumption research, 64% of Milllennial parents say their kids watch YouTube daily, and popular kids’ content on the site is continuing to be mined for more mainstream media—and merch. Pocket.watch, the kids’ content company that turns YouTube hits like Ryan’s World into massive media empires, is about the release Kaleidoscope City, a new franchise based on the Toys And Colors YouTube channels. Those channels have 65.4 million subscribers and a reported 1.5 billion monthly views, a.k.a. a massive built-in audience for the “live-action and animated series, consumer products, gaming, podcasts, [and] live events” Pocket.watch has in store. The new show will feature the Asian-American cast from the YouTube hit, and “highlight themes of diveristy and inclusion”—issues YPulse knows Millennial parents want kids’ content to cover.
