Kylie Cosmetics, Sally Hansen, and Covergirl are introducing AR tech into their sites and stores. Coty-owned brands are integrating Perfect Corp.’s YouCam app technology into the sites and stores where their brands are sold. Once available, consumers will be able to access the AR tech through the YouCam app and social and online channels (plus DTC ecommerce and non-transactional brand websites where the tech is featured), and in-store shoppers and beauty advisors will be able to scan a QR code to access the feature. Perfect Corp. found that its technology has led to a 400% increase in sales conversions online and a 200% conversion in-store (return rates have also decreased by 8%). Coty and Perfect Corp. also plan to produce more interactive experiences like livestream shopping shows. AR technology and livestream shopping are online/virtual shopping experiences that young consumers are interested in, and Coty’s partnership with Perfect Corp. continues the beauty industry’s embrace of augmented reality.
