Mental health content is exploding on TikTok. YPulse’s State of Mind trend research found that the pandemic has made mental health even more of a priority for young people, and they’re talking about their experiences on TikTok, sharing coping mechanisms and advice while normalizing the (much needed) conversation. #MentalHealth has more than 15.3 billion views and #TherapistsOfTikTok has 318 million, and therapist TikTok creator Jaime Mahler explains, “we are empowering people to know that treating and taking care of your mental health is vital…we have to create a foundational understanding of who we are, of where we want to be.” Gen Z and Millennials say that mental health struggles is one of the top 10 problems their generation faces today, and brands can support them by getting in on the conversation to help destigmatize the issue.
