Millennials are taking their own approach to parenting, and that includes pregnancy.

Sep 02 2021

Millennials are taking their own approach to parenting, and that includes pregnancy. Millennials are getting more tests and scans during pregnancy than previous generations, are more likely to want to know the sex of the baby, and to take part in other new pregnancy norms that Boomers apparently just don’t understand (for example, 18% of Millennial parents had a gender reveal party, according to YPulse’s data). One of those is using doulas and night nannies, something that has become more common with Millennials living away from their families and in urban areas, and 70% of today’s parents say they’re expected to do it all without fundamental support systems. Researching “everything” is another pregnancy habit of Millennials, but it also leads to some anxiety, with 60% of Millennials agreeing there is too much conflicting advice for pregnant women, compared to 36% of Boomers.
