Walmart is hosting a shoppable livestream concert to stir excitement for back to school season. The shoppable event kicks off on September 7 when Kane Brown is set to perform an in-person and free livestreamed concert in his Georgia hometown, hosted by Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp and Outer Banks actress Madison Bailey. Schnapp and Bailey will offer viewers a chance to win prizes and deals that will help drive traffic to Walmart’s ecommerce offerings as the brand works to strengthen its digital presence. The shoppable livestream concert is part of a larger concert series by Walmart called “Homecoming” where Imagine Dragons and Chance the Rapper will perform free concerts in their hometowns in an effort to celebrate teachers and their school communities. The brand is also sponsoring a “Homecoming” TikTok challenge calling on participants to share why their favorite teachers deserve to be recognized. Walmart tops the list of young people’s favorite places to buy clothing, and with livestream shopping and virtual concerts continuing to take off, the brand is sure to make (another) successful splash with young audiences during its “Homecoming” concert series.
