Some young workers are (reportedly) working two full time jobs from home to bring in double the salary—and there’s an entire online community devoted to it. While many have been using remote work to reassess their work-life balance, others are taking advice from Overemployed.com for working multiple jobs at once. A writer known as “Isaac” is the voice of the platform, offering advice for maintaining several full-time jobs at once (though how they’re actually doing it remains a mystery to us). “Isaac” claims to have managed a 40-hour work week between both his jobs while earning over $300,000, and other workers are taking a more rigorous approach by working up to 100 hours a week to earn as much as $600,000. Membership to Overemployed.com’s Discord channel is growing fast, moving from 766 members to more than 2,300 in one week. Members’ backgrounds tend to be in software, development, security, or finance and their reasoning for joining varies: some are using the advice channel to make extra income while they transition jobs, others are looking for an additional full-time job to “make the most” out of WFH, and some are even looking to add a third position to their work lives. The community has become so popular that an Overemployed.com book is set for publication in 2022. (Business Insider)
