Instagram wants to become TikTok. It appears every social media platform wants to be TikTok these days, and Instagram is doubling down on new features to lean even further into video content and influencers. According to head of TikTok Adam Mosseri, “Instagram is no longer a photo sharing app” as the platform is experimenting with algorithm additions, more full-screen video experiences, topic recommendations, and more. While Instagram’s plans are still very much under development, it’s clear the original “square photo-sharing app” wants a Gen Z upgrade. (The Verge)
