Millennials in the U.K. are continuing to embrace the “micro-wedding.”

Jun 30 2021

Millennials in the U.K. are continuing to embrace the “micro-wedding.” Weddings took a big hit at the start of the pandemic, but 2021 is looking much brighter for happy couples: a recent survey by The Knot found that 47% of couples with 2020 wedding dates rescheduled their reception to 2021. But some pandemic wedding trends are sticking around. YPulse found that in the U.S., micro-weddings are a top pandemic nuptial trend young people believe will continue—and the same thing is happening in the U.K., where “small and intimate” celebrations are trending. The scaled down events allow couples more freedom, and more leeway to spend on the things they care about. According to the co-founder of one London-based bridal boutique: “Whatever happens with Covid-19, we believe the micro wedding is here to stay.” (Elle UK)
