French startup Vybe is building an online bank alternative for European teens.

Jun 30 2021

French startup Vybe is building an online bank alternative for European teens. With the oldest edge of Gen Z entering adulthood, this gen’s spending power is about to swell—as is their use of financial services. Finances are even top of mind on TikTok, where Gen Zs have been seeking out advice from financial advisors. Several French startups are already catering to these financially curious teens, including Kard, PixPay, and Xaalys. Now Vybe, the newest bank on the block, is giving its users a Mastercard paired with an e-wallet, with an IBAN for each account so users can send and receive cash. For teens under 18, parents can set up payment limits, view transactions, and even block the card. While Vybe isn’t live yet, 260,000 cards have already been preordered, and the app has been downloaded 375,000 times. (TechCrunch)
