Consumers are “going all out” this summer. In a survey of 2,000 Americans conducted by OnePoll and Affirm, 45% of Americans agree that they plan to spend more money this year than the past two summers combined. On top of wanting to spend big, 48% agree that they’ve saved enough money during the pandemic to spend “guilt-free.” Vacations, going out to eat, clothing, home upgrades, and hosting friends/family at home are the top activities consumers are planning to spend the most on. YPulse’s summer plans research shows that travel is the top activity that young consumers are looking forward to this year with 56% planning to take a vacation/travel. Still, spending responsibly is top of mind, and 72% of consumers are interested in using a buy now, pay later solution for their summer spending according to Affirm. (SWNS Digital)
