Mattel is asking parents to send back old Barbie, Matchbox, and Mega toys (for free) to recycle them into new items.

Jun 24 2021

Mattel is asking parents to send back old Barbie, Matchbox, and Mega toys (for free) to recycle them into new items. YPulse’s sustainability research shows that Millennial parents are more likely than their non-parent peers to say they do whatever they can to live sustainably on a daily basis, and their views on the environment are impacting the brands they buy. As part of their efforts to become more sustainable and use recycled materials across all products, Mattel’s new PlayBack program is providing shipping labels to customers who want to send back some of their most popular toys to be reused to make future products. Lego and Hasbro have also launched recycling programs, making eco-friendly returns a burgeoning norm for the industry. (CNET)
