Christian Louboutin tapped Idris and Sabrina Elba for a collection supporting Black Lives Matter. After watching an Instagram Live conversation with Idris and Sabrina Elba and Black Lives Matter (BLM) co-founder, Opal Tometi, the luxury shoe designer knew he needed to take action. On top of making a donation to the BLM movement, Christian Louboutin wanted to “provide practical solutions that ladder up to systemic change for communities.” He started the “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” project with the Elbas featuring a 20-piece capsule collection, with 100% of the collection’s proceeds donated to five nonprofit organizations chosen by the collection’s three creators. The Black Lives Matter movement is a top cause Gen Z and Millennials want brands involved in, and Louboutin’s capsule collection is a prime example of how brands can authentically show their support.
