BIPOC influencers are leading the conversation on #SkincareTwitter.

Jun 15 2021

BIPOC influencers are leading the conversation on #SkincareTwitter. Brands have been heavily leaning on “the skinfluencer era,” but it was Black creators, like esthetician Ashley White, who kicked off the trend on social platforms like Twitter using the hashtag #SkincareTwitter. According to Twitter, #skincare was the most popular beauty hashtag during the pandemic—and many BIPOC influencers have been credited to have been “especially important to the rise of beauty Twitter overall.” According to Twitter Arthouse’s global head, nine out of 20 of the platform’s top beauty creators are diverse—and they have enlisted top makeup influencers like Zoe Amira, Jackie Aina, and Shaniah Bell for events in their Spaces feature.
