Papa John’s is tapping Depop for a streetwear collab inspired by Gen Z. Food brands have been making their own merch to connect with young consumers for quite some time, and now Papa John’s is putting their own spin on the marketing trend. Leaning on Gen Z’s love of fashion, music, and streetwear, Papa John’s created a “tongue-in-cheek spoof on a fashion drop,” and to make it feel authentic the pizza brand worked with Depop to launch a limited-edition range of Cheddar-customized streetwear inspired by its delivery driver gear. The pizza brand’s latest global campaign includes a 30-second spot featuring young models eating pizza and wearing the Papa John’s x Depop streetwear, with the brand’s original “Cheddar” track from B Zino playing in the background. Papa John’s worked with a fashion student to turn its delivery driver gear into fashionable streetwear, and all profits from the Depop drop will go to charity. (The Drum)
