“Cleaning TikTok” is making products go viral from users’ weirdly satisfying videos. YPulse has told you about the impact going viral on TikTok can have on products’ sales, and The Pink Stuff on Amazon is the app’s latest (happy) victim. The pink, pasty all-purpose cleaning product is having its 15-seconds of fame after recently debuting in the U.S. this year. Since January, the brand notes that sales for The Pink Stuff have spiked from 50,000 units a month to 350,000 strictly from organic social media (thanks TikTok), and expects its monthly units to double by July. Now that the product has experienced viral success from social media, The Pink Stuff USA plans to introduce a paid marketing campaign with the opportunity to collaborate with popular cleaning TikTok creators. Cleaning TikTok features videos of people cleaning their dirty oven, bathtub, you name it, to the tune of a catchy pop song, and “as seen on TV” products are becoming “as seen on TikTok” because the internet is obsessed with watching “oddly satisfying” activities.
