Wedding fashion is set to go non-traditional as young couples gear up to party for their delayed nuptials.

May 18 2021

Wedding fashion is set to go non-traditional as young couples gear up to party for their delayed nuptials. Weddings will be some of the first post-pandemic reunions for families and friends, and brides and grooms are looking to create celebrations that spark joy after a year spent with no gatherings—and the fashion to match. According to global fashion search platform Lyst, people are looking for bold dresses, suits, accessories, and high heels to make a fashion statement and plan the ultimate post-pandemic party. Lyst notes that searches for oversized headbands are up 40%, interest in blazer dresses is up 181%, and Bridgerton-inspired empire waist wedding dresses are up 133%. YPulse’s wedding research shows how COVID-19 changed young people’s wedding plans, and the pandemic continues to create new trends.
