Snack is calling on Gen Z to invest in its TikTok-esque dating app. YPulse included Snack in our round up on new dating apps giving digital dating an upgrade. Now, after raising $3.5 million in seed funding, the app is continuing its fundraising efforts with its launch of a Gen Z Syndicate on AngelList where Gen Z community members, influencers, and creators can invest in its $2 million SAFE. The app will be one of the first to integrate TikTok’s Login SDK for third-party apps, meaning Snack users can share their TikTok videos to their dating profiles just like Tinder users can share their Instagram photos to their account. Unlike most mainstream dating apps, Snack users have the ability to scroll through a feed of content similar to Instagram and TikTok, but instead of swiping right or left on profiles, users can view, like, and comment on videos posted by other accounts. Once there’s a mutual like between two users’ videos they can direct message each other. With YPulse’s Finding Love Post-Covid trend research showing that half of young singles used social media for online dating during COVID, Snack could be the marriage (no pun intended) of social and dating the next generation needs.
