Young consumers are producing a ton of social content—and making it shoppable can give brands an edge. YPulse’s Social Media Deep Dive trend report found that 56% of 13-39-year-olds say they create social media content for an audience outside of their friends and family, and the plethora of organic content can be a boon for brands. Data shows that consumers prefer authentic user-created images, and trust it more than branded content, with shoppers reportedly 6x more likely to buy a product if social media images are included on the page. For Lush Cosmetics, shoppable UGC helped boost impressions on their website and product pages. In just one month, the brand saw a 333% boost in impressions (1 million to be exact) on the landing pages where photographs from real customers were being used. (Social Media Today)
