A designer thrift store meets CBD distillery targeting Gen Z is using TikTok to build up hype. YPulse found that weed was in the top 20 list of things Gen Z and Millennials couldn’t live without during the pandemic. Now, young consumers (in New York) are in for a (CBD) treat at the Bowery Showroom which is combining their interests in thrifting and cannabis—and it’s getting TikTok famous. After getting tired of the Manhattan bar scene with his friends, founder Matt Choon wanted to create a place that fosters Gen Z’s authenticity and gives them a space to fuel their content creation. In proper Gen Z fashion, Choon used TikTok to build an audience for Bowery Showroom, which got more than 5 million views, and helped them welcome 2,000 people to the shop’s pre-launch event, a “blow out grand opening party” featuring a DJ, vintage clothing, and more. YPulse’s Cannabis Infusion trend report found that 59% of 18-36-year-olds say CBD should be mainstream, and new shops like Bowery Showroom could be the next generation hotspots. (TimeOut)
