Snapchat and Instagram are working on features to compete with TikTok’s Duets. The Duets feature is one of TikTok’s most popular features and as Snapchat continues to build on their massive growth, they’re coming out with a similar feature to compete. With “Remix,” users will be allowed to create new collaborative content using their friends’ videos, and be able to reply to a friend’s story. To do so, they can record their own video alongside the original as it plays—in a very similar fashion to TikTok’s Duet function. Meanwhile, Instagram is adding a new “Remix this Reel” feature that will allow users to add a reaction clip to play side-by-side with an original video. (TechCrunch, Social Media Today)
