Gen Z is turning to TikTok for career advice. Gone are the days of printed resumes and only using LinkedIn to apply for jobs. In the last year, as Gen Z’s employment options were impacted by COVID, young prospective employees have been turning to TikTok to land new positions—and career coaches are joining the ranks of other professions flocking to the app. The hashtag #careeradvice has boomed in popularity since mid-February and currently has 1.1 billion views. The platform has now been cultivating their own career-related videos about interview tips or job skills along with other how-to content such as recipes, financial advice, math skills, and home DIY videos. Meanwhile, the company announced a $50 million Creative Learning Fund last spring to support educational content. (The Washington Post)
