| BNPL services are making themselves more accessible as more brands start to adopt them. As Buy Now, Pay Later programs gain traction, they’re teaming up with more brands and being adopted by major retailers. Afterpay just teamed up with Stripe to provide the installment options to offer it to their sellers. Meanwhile, retailers and brands like Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, and Gap are beginning to offer BNPL as they “rebound from the pandemic” and try to “lure” young consumers. Macy’s reports that 45% of shoppers who use Klarna with them are under 40-years-old, and if the retailer didn’t offer it “they might have gone elsewhere. YPulse found that 22% of 13-39-year-olds have used BNPL payment installment services already, and 29% are interested in using them. (Retail Dive, WSJ) |
