TikTok is paying to create science content for Gen Z.

Feb 05 2021

TikTok is paying to create science content for Gen Z. To entertain and educate quarantined young people, the app is paying Group Nine Media’s science brand Seeker to create original videos about environmental issues, conservation, space, and health. Their deal is part of the social platform’s $50 million Creative Learning Fund, started to support creators producing educational content and resources for young learners during the pandemic. According to Seeker, their “Gen Z cross-platform” audience has grown by 230% over the past year and now represents 28% of its audience as a whole. Meanwhile, their audience on TikTok grew 125% year-over-year to 90 million views, and their followers have “nearly tripled.” (Digiday)
