Despite the pandemic, Millennials are still planning to have babies. According to a Brookings Institution report, there will be about 300K fewer birthdays in 2021—an 8% drop from 2019. And thanks to COVID, typical traditions like holding a partner’s hand during an ultrasound appointment, crowded baby showers, and family flying in to meet a new grandchild have changed dramatically. However, many would-be parents, who either paused fertility treatments in the spring or took it as a sign to slow down, are tired of waiting—and some are discovering that remote work is a “silver lining” that has made starting a family possible. A Modern Fertility survey reported that 30% have changing their family planning decisions, and while most decided to delay having kids, or rethought the proposition altogether, a quarter of that 30% accelerated their plans. YPulse’s Life Plans, Rewritten trend report found that 84% of 20-38-year-old females say raising a family is an important life goal—and we’ll be talking through this topic (and more) during our webinar this Thursday.
