Google is letting users virtually try-on makeup and shop from influencers’ content using augmented reality. We told you how AR filters are been big in the beauty space, and now Google is launching an AR-powered cosmetics try-on tool with the help of ModiFace and Perfect Corp. The tech company is partnering with brands like L’Oréal, Estée Lauder, MAC Cosmetics, Black Opal, and Charlotte Tilbury to let consumers test makeup shades “across a range of models with various skin tones or even on themselves using their front-facing camera on mobile devices.” When users search for something like “L’Oréal’s Infallible Paints Metallic Eyeshadow,” on Google’s search bar, the virtual try-on shopping experience will be at the top of their results. Along with the AR tool, they will show recommendations from beauty, apparel, and home and garden influencers who will talk about their favorite brands and products in the Google Shopping section.
