Walmart is turning their salaried employees into influencers with a new program.

Dec 17 2020

Walmart is turning their salaried employees into influencers with a new program. Through Spotlight, the retailer wants to transform some of their workers into “a fleet of in-house digital influencers.” Employees will be using TikTok (which the company has a stake in) to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of their lives at Walmart, while also promoting various products and brand initiatives on their personal social media accounts. Additionally, Walmart will be recruiting creators to Spotlight by going on My Local Social to find top-performing creators. Around 500 people are currently enrolled in the program, which is only available to salaried employees and not hourly workers—but that could change in coming months. (Tubefilter)
