Netflix’s international shows and movies soared by 50% in the U.S. this year. YPulse’s Borderless Culture trend report found that a majority of young viewers enjoy TV shows from other countries. According to Netflix, subscribers in the U.S. ramped up their viewing of international series in 2020, with non-English language title consumption up over 50% compared to last year. Spanish drama film The Platform, Germany’s Barbarians, and France’s Rogue City were the most popular, while Korean drama viewing “almost tripled” with the second season of Kingdom and The King: Eternal Monarch being the most popular. Viewers also watched twice as much anime series compared to last year with Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution and Blood Of Zeus being the top titles. (TBI Vision)
