Remote education has transformed college towns and students’ experiences. Many of Gen Z’s milestones have been impacted by the pandemic, and YPulse found that the majority of college students are attending their fall semester online. For those who are on campus, new safety measures limit social interaction and students are missing out on staying up late in dorm lounges, sitting next to classmates, making new friends, tailgating at football games, and other traditions. Meanwhile, college towns and businesses are suffering as students avoid going to bars, tailgates, and are shopping less. (WSJ, WSJ)
