Fortnite is launching a virtual concert series that will serve as a “tour stop” for musicians. After the success of previous virtual events, the gaming app is hosting a three-week-long concert series that will take place on the party royale island, starting with Dominic Fike. The debut is all part of “a bigger plan” to turn the game’s virtual stage into a “tour stop” for artists. Epic Games has reportedly been working on this since the pandemic began. To achieve this, the company built a “state-of-the-art studio space” with a “massive” LED wall and floor, and robocams that can be “operated remotely.” The goal of the studio is to make musical performances “bigger and more impressive.” (The Verge)
