Xfinity Mobile is gamifying their social ads with the help of Pinterest. While brands are putting ads into video games, some are choosing to turn their ads into mini games instead. The Comcast-owned company launched a “gamified campaign” on Pinterest to promote its wireless phone and data services by creating three mobile games that users can play directly on the social platform. In “Switch ‘n Save,” users collect coins while steering a rocket ship, “Got You Covered” asks players to connect a network of aliens, and in “Mix ‘n Match,” gamers have to match data orbs to build a planet. They developed the games using Pinterest’s built-in “Pin” button and extension to highlight the features of their wireless network. YPulse found that 46% of 13-39-year-olds started playing a new mobile or video game because of quarantine. (Mobile Marketer)
