Walmart+ is finally here—will it be an Amazon Prime challenger? After COVID-related delays, Walmart is launching their long-awaited membership program this month. As a refresher: Walmart+ is $98 a year and will focus on unlimited grocery and general merch delivery from retail locations, as well as offering discounts at Walmart gas stations and access to “Scan & Go” technology. According to the retailer, they want to be “the ultimate life hack” for customers who want to save time and money. While they claim they didn’t create the service “to compete with anything else,” of course it’s drawing comparisons to Amazon Prime, which YPulse data shows over half of 19-37-year-olds use. (Vox)
