Disney, Hilton, and Southwest Airlines are targeting young travelers via Pinterest. YPulse’s recent travel report found that 45% of 13-39-year-olds cancelled travel or a trip this summer. To reach those quarantined young travelers, Disney, Hilton, Southwest Airlines, Accor and California’s tourism board have developed branded content and campaigns on Pinterest to promote trips that are mindful of health and safety recommendations and content around “dream vacations.” According to Pinterest, searches for “RV camping trips” jumped nearly 1,300% last June compared to last year, while searches for “road trips routes” surged almost 250%, “vacation spots” saw more than a 170% increase, and searches for “cross country road trip,” “national parks,” and “lake weekend” saw increases as well.
