Families are actually being inspired to travel more because of flexible schedules.

Aug 07 2020

Families are actually being inspired to travel more because of flexible schedules. Summer vacation has looked vastly different this year with a drop in airline travel and YPulse’s travel report found that 45% of 13-39-year-olds cancelled travel or a trip this summer. But according to a report from Vrbo, extended work from home periods and virtual learning could potentially lead to a rise in “flexcations” during “the offseason.” The survey found that 67% of consumers need a “change in scenery,” while 21% said the remote work conditions could create “big opportunities” for trips throughout the remainder of the year. Half of the families surveyed said they feel like their flexible school schedules could give them more opportunities to travel. The vacation rental platform found that there has been an increase in weeklong stays at Vrbo locations with searches up 15% and 25% compared to last year. (Adweek)
