Young gamers want to see more brands tap into the “esports realm.” According to a Mediahub survey, many consumers don’t think brands are taking the esports trend as seriously as they should be with. Over half say they would like to see brands put more money put into the esports category to help it grow, while 42% said video game-related ads are the best spot for brands to show up in these conversations. Since the start of the pandemic, the gaming industry has seen a significant boom in business from cooped up young consumers, and YPulse’s research has long found esports fans are open to brand participation.
