Instagram’s TikTok-esque feature is launching in the U.S. If the app is banned in the U.S., young users are most likely to use Instagram instead. Now Instagram is making that even more appealing, unveiling their “TikTok copycat” Reels feature in the states next month. It was also launched in India after the country officially banned the app. Reels is a new video tool “designed specifically for short-form, creative content” that allows users to post 15-second clips set to music or audio. The feature lives inside Instagram Stories, rather than requiring the use of a standalone app. The videos won’t stick around like they do on TikTok—unless users decide to specifically add them to their own profile.
