Even if the economy opens up soon, most young consumers would still stay home. According to a survey by research firm Ipsos, 64% of consumers said that reopening the country right now is “not worth it” because more people would die if COVID-19 continues to spread. Only 24% said they’d go back to a movie theater, while 30% said they’d stay at hotels. However, participants were more inclined to do other public activities: 44% said they would eat out at a restaurant again, while 51% said they would get a haircut. YPulse found that while a majority of Gen Z and Millennials are excited to go back to large gatherings like concerts when social distancing measures are eased, they will do so with caution. (Adweek)
