Teens on lockdown are making their own schedules and they include a lot of sleep and Netflix binging. With less structured school days, no sports, or afterschool jobs, teens on lockdown have settled into a new schedule that includes less showers, staying up late, sleeping late, and endless screen time. For many, snacks like Cheez-Its have “become a food group,” while repeated viewings of comfort shows like Grey’s Anatomy and other older series are a daily occurrence. While it’s causing some friction between parents and children, experts are reassuring families that this is normal behavior during a traumatic event when regular coping mechanisms have been totally “obliterated.” (Boston Globe)
