Half of young people have lost work due to COVID—and they’re facing a recession just as they’re recovering from the last one. Unemployment in the U.S. has already reached 22 million—and according to a survey from YouGov and MTV News, half of Gen Z and Millennials have lost income since the start of the outbreak. The COVID crisis and impending recession is coming when many young adults feel like they were barely just in the clear of the other Great Recession, and now they’re fearing for the future. YPulse’s exclusive COVID research found that 40% of employed Millennials are also afraid of losing their jobs because of the pandemic. (MTV News, WSJ, BuzzFeed News)
