Fox Media has filed a trademark application for “OK Boomer” with plans to develop a television show. In a screenshot via Twitter, it was revealed Fox wants rights of the popular slogan for “entertainment services, namely, an on-going television series featuring reality competition, comedy, and game shows.” The popular phrase went viral as a Gen Z rallying cry and was quickly turned into merch online. Fox is not the only group to file for trademark—and they’re unlikely to succeed. (Business Insider)
