Stranger Things season three set a viewing record for Netflix, and they’re “ready to compete” with new rivals in the streaming wars. In a rare move for the brand, Netflix has been sharing some of their viewing numbers, revealing that their most recent season of Stranger Things was their most-watched original series ever, watched by 64 million households in its first month. (And we know Gen Z and Millennials loved it.) Though their subscriber growth has slowed, and the arrival of Disney+ could hurt them “near term,” Netflix’s original content is clearly their weapon of choice as competition heats up.
