Eating alone is losing its stigma, as Millennials fuel the growth of single-person households. Solo dining at home is becoming “the new normal,” and brands are adjusting packaging size and products to serve those who want smaller meals that require little preparation—beyond the sad frozen dinner. Restaurants are also beginning to cater to more solo diners, and YPulse’s new Extended Singledom trend found that 61% of 18-37-year-olds would be comfortable eating at a restaurant by themselves.
