Questionable animated content has taken over kids YouTube, and human stars are fighting back. Elsagate called out content that was outright inappropriate, but strange shows mass-produced to win views via YouTube’s algorithm like “Johny Johny Yes Papa” continue to thrive. In response, thoughtful channels featuring human (and dog) stars are holding their own by diversifying past the platform onto the likes of Amazon Prime and Pluto TV. They’re also cross-promoting content by recommending each other’s videos in a section that they, rather than YouTube, curate. (Motherboard)
