A bot-run Instagram account has over 28K followers—and restaurants are sponsoring the faux-influencer’s posts. A data scientist created a series of scripts to direct the account to source images from a list of legitimate influencers, credit them accordingly, append a generic caption and hashtags, and post at strategic times—calling to question accounts known for reposting, rather than creating original content (like F**kJerry). Notably, the restaurants footing the bill don't seem to mind that the only thing he does manually is answer their requests to sponsor posts. (Eater)
