Many future Gen Z brides and grooms will be paying for their weddings. The Knot found that although 87% plan to get hitched someday, one-third of the young generation predicts they will be paying for their own nuptials, and less than 6% expect their parents to fully foot the bill. And according to our recent survey on wedding trends, 73% of teens think that couples paying for the wedding themselves is in style. One driver of the change is that couples are marrying later when their incomes are higher, but The Knot’s deputy editor adds that, “It’s also an effort to have more control.” (Bloomberg)
