IMAX may have closed the curtain on virtual reality, but other major theaters aren’t bowing out. IMAX ambitiously launched VR centers across the country and shut them down not long after, but others are seeing success with a slower and steadier approach. Cinemark just opened their second VR experience Terminator Salvation: Fight For the Future, while AMC has plans to open immersive “pods” in four theaters.
