The U.S. Army is leveraging esports to attract new recruits. In addition to some recruiters reportedly engaging with potential recruits via online games, the service assembled active-duty members on a team earlier this year to play Street Fighter V in a livestreamed championship series. Their next move is rumored to be holding esports team tryouts. Those who make the cut will join the Army’s Marketing and Engagement Team, attend esports events, and test out new Army apps and software. (Variety)
