Generation Wanderlust is splurging on experiences. Thirty-seven percent of travelers under-30-years-old told WYSE that they are “very likely” to spend extra for experiences involving food and drink, and 27% said the same for festivals. When it comes to where they’re getting recommendations for their travel itineraries, friends and family still top the list, but they’re also much more likely to look to social media and other referral sites than they were in 2012.
