Lucky Charms is showing that sugary cereals still have a place in young consumer’s diets. The brand’s sales have increased 20% over last year, making it General Mills’ fastest-growing cereal brand. What’s driving the growth? While the company says that “People are loving the marshmallows,” there’s more to it than that. Young consumers may want to healthify some things, but they also want to treat themselves. And it doesn’t hurt that Lucky Charms added a unicorn marshmallow and a Frosted Flakes variety this year.
